ลำดับพิธีสงฆ์ในงานแต่งแบบไทย จัดมาให้แบบเป๊ะทุกขั้นตอน
ลำดับที่ 1 เมื่อพระสงฆ์ท่านมาถึงสถานที่จัดพิธีแล้ว ให้เจ้าภาพนิมนต์พระขึ้นนั่งบนอาสนะที่จัดเตรียมไว้ แล้วประเคนเครื่องรับรองถวาย เช่น น้ำดื่ม น้ำชา หรือน้ำหวานที่ทางเจ้าภาพได้จัดเตรียมไว้

ลำดับที่ 2 บ่าวสาวจุดธูปเทียนบูชาพระพุทธที่โต๊ะหมู่บูชา โดยให้ผู้หญิงนั่งทางซ้าย ผู้ชายนั่งทางขวา และเริ่มจุดจากเทียนเล่มซ้ายก่อน แล้วตามด้วยเทียนเล่มขวา จากนั้นจุดธูปไหว้พระคนละ 3 ดอก ปักลงกระถางให้ตั้งตรง กราบพระพร้อมกัน 3 ครั้ง แล้วประเคนสายสิญจน์ให้พระเถระผู้เป็นประธานสงฆ์ในพิธี (พระที่นั่งอยู่รูปแรก)

ลำดับที่ 3 เจ้าพิธีจะนำอาราธนาศีล (ขึ้นต้นว่า มะยัง ภันเต…) จากนั้นพระสงฆ์ท่านจะให้ศีล (พระท่านจะตั้งนะโม 3 จบ ตามด้วย พุทธัง สะระณัง คัจฉามิ…)

ลำดับที่ 4 เจ้าพิธีจะนำอาราธนาพระปริตร (ขึ้นต้นว่า วิปัตติปะฏิพาหายะ…)

ลำดับที่ 5 หลังจากการอาราธนาพระปริตรจบ พระสงฆ์จะเริ่มเจริญพระพุทธมนต์ และเมื่อพระสวดไปจนถึงบทมลคลสูตร (ขึ้นต้นว่า อะเสวะนา จะพาลานัง…) ให้บ่าวสาวจุดเทียนน้ำมนต์ที่ตั้งอยู่ใกล้บาตรหรือขันน้ำมนต์ แล้วยกประเคนแด่ประธานสงฆ์ เพื่อให้ท่านทำน้ำพระพุทธมนต์

อับดับที่ 6 จากนั้นเมื่อพระท่านสวดถึงบทพาหุง (ขึ้นต้นว่า พาหุงสะหัสสะมะ ภินิมมิตะสาวุธันตัง…) ให้บ่าวสาวลุกออกไปตักบาตร หรือหามีการเลี้ยงเพลให้เริ่มถวายข้าวพระพุทธ และเตรียมภัตตาหารสำหรับถวายพระสงฆ์

ลำดับที่ 7 เมื่อตักบาตรเสร็จ หรือพระฉันภัตตาหารเรียบร้อยแล้ว ให้บ่าวสาวถวายเครื่องไทยธรรมที่เตรียมไว้ให้กับพระสงฆ์จนครบทุกรูป

ลำดับที่ 8 หลังจากประเคนเครื่องไทยธรรมเรียบร้อย ให้บ่าวสาวเตรียมตัวกรวดน้ำ โดยเมื่อพระเริ่มสวดว่า “ยะถา…” ให้บ่าวสาวรินน้ำลงในภาชนะที่เตรียมไว้ และเมื่อพระสวดถึงบท “สัพพีติโญ…” ให้บ่าวสาวกรวดน้ำให้เสร็จเรียบร้อยและพนมมือรับพร

ลำดับที่ 9 หากเจ้าภาพมีความประสงค์ให้พระท่านพรมน้ำมนต์ให้ก่อนกลับก็ต้องเรียนท่านไว้ล่วงหน้า โดยระหว่างการพรมน้ำมนต์พระท่านจะสวดบทชัยมงคลคาถาเพื่อความเป็นสิริมงคลแก่คู่บ่าวสาวและครอบครัว เสร็จแล้วเจ้าภาพก็เตรียมตัวส่งพระกลับวัด
