อีกกรณีนึงสำหรับแท้งค์ใต้ดินก็คือตัวฟุตวาล์วปลายท่อ (Foot valve) ที่จุ่มลงไปในแท้งค์ ทำหน้าที่ทั้งกันมิให้สิ่งสกปรกชิ้นใหญ่หลุดเข้าไปในท่อและทำหน้าที่เป็นวาล์วกันไม่ให้น้ำไหลย้อนกลับจากปั๊มและท่อลงแท้งค์น้ำ ตัวฟุตวาลว์อาจจะเสียไม่สามารถกักน้ำหรือไม่สามารถล่อน้ำให้กับท่อทางดูดของปั๊มได้ ก็เป็นสาเหตุที่ทำให้ปั๊มดูดน้ำไม่ขึ้นได้เช่นกันครับ
