ฐานะแขก
-ในฐานะแขกผู้มาเยือน ไม่ควรรับประทานหรือดื่มเครื่องดื่มก่อนเจ้าบ้านเด็ดขาด
ชิมอาหารให้ครบ
-ชิมอาหารให้ครบทุกอย่างที่อยู่บนโต๊ะ
ถามก่อนตัก
-ถามเพื่อนร่วมโต๊ะก่อนตักอาหารหรือเติมน้ำให้ตัวเองเสมอ
ไม่ควรยกจานส่งต่อ
-ไม่ควรยกจานอาหารที่วางอยู่บนโต๊ะหรือยกจานอาหารส่งต่อให้คนอื่น
ไม่ควรกินจนเกลี้ยง
-กินจนเกลี้ยงจานถือเป็นการดูถูกเจ้าบ้านเพราะมันอาจถูกแปลความหมายไปว่าเขา/เธอเสิร์ฟอาหารให้น้อยเกินไป
ไม่ควรเป็นคนตักอาหารชิ้นสุดท้าย
-ไม่ควรเป็นคนตักอาหารชิ้นสุดท้ายในจานนั้น ๆ เด็ดขาด ชาวจีนมองว่าเป็นเรื่องโชคร้ายและยังมองอีกว่าคนที่ตักชิ้นสุดท้ายเป็นคนตะกละและหิวตลอดเวลา
อย่าวางตะเกียบไว้บนถ้วย
-อย่าวางตะเกียบไว้บนถ้วย หรือทิ้งไว้ในถ้วยเมื่อทานเสร็จ เพราะถือว่าไม่สุภาพและเป็นเรื่องของโชคร้าย
ไม่ควรเจรจาธุรกิจบนโต๊ะอาหาร
-การเจรจาธุรกิจจะไม่ทำบนโต๊ะอาหารเรื่องที่พูดคุยกันจะเป็นเรื่องที่สบาย ๆ
ยกแก้วร่วมยินดีควรใช้สองมือ
-การยกแก้วควรใช้ทั้งสองมือเพื่อเป็นการแสดงความเคารพและควรดื่มให้หมดแก้วหากใช้มือเดียวควรเป็นมือข้างขวา ควรมองตาผู้ร่วมแสดงความยินดีและธรรมเนียมจีนไม่มีการชนแก้ว
รับประทานผลไม้ปิดท้าย
-การเสิร์ฟผลไม้ถือเป็นการปิดท้ายการรับประทานอาหาร ตามปกติแขกมักจะอยู่ต่อไม่นานหลังจากรับประทานอาหารเสร็จ และอาจอยู่ต่ออีกสักเล็กน้อยเพื่อรับประทานผลไม้ปิดท้าย
