ไดนาโม
เป็นอุปกรณ์ที่ถือว่าสำคัญเป็นอย่างมาก เคยสงสัยกันมั้ยว่าอุปกรณ์ใช้ไฟฟ้าต่างๆที่อยู่ภายในรถ นำกระแสไฟฟ้าที่ไหนมาใช้? หลายๆคนก็คงต้องคิดว่าเป็นแบตเตอรี่กัน แต่ในความเป็นจริงแล้วกระแสไฟฟ้าที่เราใช้กันภายในรถ ส่วนสำคัญที่ช่วยในการผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้า คือ ไดนาโม นั่นเอง ลำพังแบตเตอรี่นั้นใช้ไม่นานก็หมดไฟแล้วล่ะครับ
ไดนาโมกับไดสตาร์ท เหมือนกันหรือต่างกันอย่างไร?

หลายคนเข้าใจผิดคิดว่า "ไดนาโม" และ "ไดสตาร์ท" คืออุปกรณ์ตัวเดียวกัน ซึ่งที่จริงแล้วไม่ใช่ แถมยังทำหน้าที่แตกต่างกันออกไปอีก(แค่มีคำว่า "ได" นำหน้าเหมือนกันเฉยๆ) ไดสตาร์ท หรือ มอเตอร์สตาร์ท เป็นอุปกรณ์มอเตอร์ที่ใช้สำหรับการสตาร์ทเครื่องยนต์ หน้าที่ของไดสตาร์ทคือตัวที่ส่งกำลังฉุด(เตะ)ให้เครื่องยนต์ทำงาน แต่เมื่อหลังจากที่เครื่องยนต์ทำงานแล้ว ไดสตาร์ทก็จะหยุดทำงานโดย ทันที ไดสตาร์ททำงานระยะสั้นๆเท่านั้น ถ้าเปรียบเทียบกับการจุดเตาถ่าน ไดสตาร์ทคือไม้ขีดไว้จุดตอนแรกเมื่อไฟเริ่มติดแล้วก็เป็นหน้าที่ของถ่านที่ทำงานต่อ ซึ่งก็คือ "ไดนาโม" พระเอกของเราในตอนนี้นั่นเองการทำงานของไดนาโม

ไดนาโมรถยนต์ มีอีกชื่อที่เรียกว่า ็อัลเทอร์เนเตอร์ิ (Alternator) แปลว่าเครื่องกำเนิดไฟฟ้า หรือเครื่องปั่นไฟ ส่วนแบตเตอรี่ที่ทุกคนคิดว่ามันเป็นแหล่งกำเนิดไฟฟ้า จริงๆแล้วมันเป็นเพียงแค่ "ที่เก็บไฟฟ้า" โดยแบตเตอรี่รับกระแสไฟฟ้ามาจากไดนาโมอีกที ซึ่งการทำหน้าที่ผลิตกระแสไฟฟ้าเพื่อส่งกระแสไฟฟ้าไปยังอุปกรณ์ต่างๆและแบตเตอรี่รถยนต์ ไดนาโมจะทำงานได้ก็ต่อเมื่อสตาร์ทเครื่องยนต์เท่านั้น โดยหลักการทำงานนั้นจะอาศัยกำลังส่งจากลูกรอกและสายพาน มาทำให้ไดนาโมหมุนเหนี่ยวนำจนเกิดกระแสไฟฟ้าขึ้นมา(เหมือนเครื่องปั่นไฟ) ถ้าพูดให้เข้าใจง่ายๆคือเครื่องยนต์ทำงานโดยใช้น้ำมันเป็นตัวจุดระเบิดให้กลไกต่างๆหมุน หลักๆก็คือหมุนล้อรถยนต์ แต่หมุนแล้วทั้งทีก็ขอหมุนอย่างอื่นไปด้วยเลย ก็คือไดนาโมเนี่ยแหละคับ ซึ่งถ้าหากไดนาโมเสียแบตเตอรี่จะทำหน้าที่จ่ายไฟอย่างเดียว ไม่ได้รับกระแสไฟฟ้ามาจากไดนาโม ไฟฟ้าในแบตเตอรี่จะค่อยๆหมดลง จนทำให้สตาร์ทเครื่องยนต์ในครั้งต่อไปไม่ได้เพราะแบตหมดก่อนเวลาอันควรนั้นเอง แต่แบตไม่ได้เสื่อมนะจ๊ะ ชาร์จไฟเข้าได้เหมือนเดิมไม่ต้องไปซื้อใหม่ แบตจะเปลี่ยนก็ต่อเมื่อเสื่อมเท่านั้น นึกถึงโทรศัพท์ก็ได้ เหมือนไอโฟน หรือ ซัมซุง เปิดเครื่องไม่ติดไม่ต้องเปลี่ยนแบตนะ แค่ชาร์จแบตแค่นั้นเอง ไดนาโมทำหน้าที่เหมือนกับชาร์จแบตอยู่ตลอดเวลาที่เครื่องติด
